They claim to be the oldest restaurant in the world that is still operating and while some may doubt this, it is definitely the oldest restaurant in Madrid. Well-known outside of Madrid, parents will appreciate the history and you can appreciate them picking up the tab. Botín is especially known for their roast pig and lamb and I would also try the croquettes while you're there; they are fried and filled with a cheese and seafood mix: they sound weird but are incredibly delicious! Reservations are highly recommended in advance - this restaurant is very popular. It's also located right off of Plaza Mayor so you can get in some sight-seeing before dinner!
